Promise Poem

from blink, debris! by Blue Genes

/

lyrics

A great mind once collapsed under the weight of his own thoughts
Something heavy and hard he let rot
So he got oughta town to fetch a rock
The kind you find in the wash out
This rock had a certain kinda heat
It was blood red, like a beat, like a heart.

The winds had blown hard for many a year, shifting the sands and wearing him down
So he rolled right oughta town
He had nothing left around to be bound down to
So he forsake'd the sea and forged a unique destiny
So far away and alone to say what he'd be shown.
